A UFO Sighting Request Answered
By Ed Sherwood
In my
experience, a ‘Close
Encounter of the Fifth Kind’ or ‘CE5’ is a human initiated
encounter
with any form of ‘Extraterrestrial’ Intelligence, related
phenomena and or technology.
One of the many Close Encounters of the ‘Fifth Kind’ I
experienced in 1992 occurred while conducting a psychic and
interactive approach to Crop Circle, UFO and related phenomena
research:
At about 9:35pm on August 28th
1992, while on route to my tent and standing alone in the North
West corner of a large wheat field, in South Field, near the
villages of Alton Priors and Alton Barnes in Wiltshire
(England); just a few hundred feet from a non-manmade Crop
Circle formation; and Tawsmead Copse, a wood synonymous with UFO
activity; on an almost still overcast night, I said out loud to
the Infinite Intelligence,
“OK Infinite
Intelligence, OK benevolent Extraterrestrial Intelligences, I am
alone. I am here in the heart of Crop Circle country and I am
available. I am ready to interact. I’m not afraid.”
Surrounded by rolling wheat I looked up to take in the
evening sky and weather, and immediately noticed when I
looked down, less than thirty seconds later, that a little less
than four miles away to the East and a little North, near the
village of Clench, was a large, perhaps 20-30ft diameter,
amber-orange coloured
‘ball plasma’, low in the sky above Broomsgrove Wood,
another wood I had come to associate with UFO activity in the
Vale of Pewsey, situated near the village of Clench. I watched
the non-glaringly bright ‘fireball’ looking luminosity slowly
rise above the silhouetted wood for almost five minutes before
it disappeared into low cloud cover. It was about 9:40pm and it
seemed my spoken request had been heard.
Exactly one
month earlier, on July 28th 1992, an identical
looking ball plasma was photographed by Maria Ward above a
hedgerow near West Overton Hill, only three miles,
‘as the crow flies’,
from Broomsgrove Wood. The encounter occurred within fifteen
minutes of Maria asking me what the best way to photograph ball
plasma was and I suggested asking first. Maria did and obtained
some of the best photographs I have seen to date of a, close
proximity, ball plasma (Fig. 1 & Ref. 1).

The ‘Source’ of the Broomsgrove Wood ball plasma certainly
had my attention. Focusing on the landscape I stilled my
mind and tried to sense clairvoyantly where, if anywhere,
another ball plasma might appear, and sensed the same
location. A few minutes later, at about 9:47pm, close to
where the first had formed, a second luminosity appeared.
This time I
attempted to interact. While the plasma held a stationary
position low above the wood, I focused my attention on it
and verbally asked it to come closer to my location, and by
visualizing, to fly to the site of a Crop Circle formation
that had appeared the previous month below ‘Oliver’s Castle’
hill fort, near the village of Roundway, and Devizes, a
little more than seven miles West and a little North of
where I was standing (Ref. 2).
A few minutes later, what had been a single
‘stationary’ ball plasma, identical to the previous one,
suddenly moved, as if very deliberately, from my right to
left in a slow straight line. Flying from a spot above what
I later identified to be a tree enclosed pond, within a
stones throw of Broomsgrove Wood, it flew up to a height of
about 30-40 feet above the trees on Martinsell Hill (about
340-350 feet off the ground), and preceded along the Tan
Hill Way ridge, North of Pewsey, heading West towards me. As
it passed the village of Huish, and over Gopher Wood, what
had been one large flickering amber-orange coloured ball
plasma suddenly
‘split’ and separated into two widely spaced apart,
diffusely edged, crimson ‘red’ coloured fireballs that
didn’t flicker. They also didn’t flash. Flying in unison,
maintaining the same speed, height and distance apart, they
moved steadily and silently along and above the Tan Hill Way
to within a mile of my location, while flying on without
pause in the direction of Roundway, some seven and a half
miles distant. I lost sight of the luminosities before they
reached the visualized location, but observed that they had
flown in the requested direction, and if they had continued
on their course without deviating would have flown to Roundway.
It was about 10pm, and reflecting on the
experience very briefly afterwards, I noted that I had
asked ball plasma to move from a spot of just under four
miles away to a position closer to me, and to fly to a
specific location in the landscape, about eleven miles from
its original location, and within a few minutes a stationary
ball plasma had done both. The luminosity had responded
psycho-interactively to both of my requests.
Sensing
the ‘anomalous’ aerial activity wasn’t over yet, I remained
standing where I was, alone in the corner of a large wheat
field, watching the sky and landscape for anything appearing
out of the ordinary. Again, about a couple of minutes later,
something far from ordinary did happen, and this time, my
request was answered not by ball plasma, but something
Extraterrestrial, and it was much closer.
Standing no more than 300 feet from Tawsmead Copse and
facing the wood my attention was suddenly drawn to a strange
illumination, coming from behind the copse, from where a
non-manmade Crop Circle pictogram had appeared the previous
summer (Ref. 3).
Emanating from below the treetops the ‘light’ had a pale
‘misty white’ appearance with diffuse edges that diverged
outwards and extended a short distance into the sky.
Trying to identify
what I was looking at
I questioned if the light might be the headlights of an
approaching vehicle, projected skywards from the hill rise
of a country lane, but I quickly realized otherwise. There
was no sound and no country lane incline, North East of
Tawsmead Copse, able to produce such an effect. The
illumination looked too wide to be ordinary headlights too
and I had a persistent clairvoyant feeling to keep watching.
About thirty seconds after the wide ‘beam’ like
illumination appeared, after realizing it couldn’t be car
headlights, it suddenly ‘switched off’. What occurred next
was one of the most impressive UFO ‘Close Encounters’ I have
experienced to date (Fig. 2).

As I continued looking at the copse, and where the light had
just been, a large brilliantly illuminated UFO slowly rose
up vertically from behind the wood. Tens of feet wide it had
a dark ‘disk’ like ‘hull’, just visible between two large
intensely bright yellow white omni-directional ‘lights’, one
at each ‘end’. I chuckled inside at the time,
“It’s larger than a
‘combine harvester’ (a large wheat harvesting vehicle)
and completely
silent.” At
that moment, the Vale of Pewsey was so quiet too, you could
have heard a pin drop (Fig. 2).
Clearing the treetops
the silent UFO ascended to about 30 feet above the wood,
stopped for approximately ten seconds, and then slowly
descended to just below the trees. About ten seconds later,
it rose up again and repeated the previous action. It did
this in front of me
three times altogether, before descending and not
reappearing. I was speechless. When I finally could speak I
thanked the Extraterrestrial Civilization involved for its
response. Lasting for about two minutes, the entire sighting
had been another brief but affirming experience of
‘psycho-interaction’
(mind interaction) between the Consciousness of the
‘observer’ (myself) and the ‘observed’ (Extraterrestrial
craft).
It
was approximately 10:05pm. Looking to the right of Tawsmead
Copse from my position in South Field, towards a conical
shaped hill called ‘Picked Hill’, I suddenly spotted another
ball plasma like luminosity, this time holding a stationary
position above what I estimated to be ‘Frith Copse’, a small
wood with an artificial pond near the village of Manningford
Bruce, a little more than a mile away. It looked like
another crimson fireball. Appearing a little smaller and
further away than the previous two, I watched it for
approximately ten minutes without noticing any discernable
movement or hearing any sound. Unfortunately I had to leave
South Field soon after this to keep a meeting in Alton
Barnes and eventually lost sight of the luminosity while
walking to the village. However
in forty minutes, while conducting a solo CE5, I had witnessed five ‘UFOs’: four ball
plasmas (one splitting into two) and one Extraterrestrial
aerial craft at close range. I was ‘buzzed’.
